This original oil painting is one in 24 (thus far) of Roxy's Cotswold Collection. The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding beauty in England. This cluster of villages hosts an array of medieval cottages built with local stone which gives them a golden sheen. Roxy was so enamored with them that she painted an entire collection from her travels. She first read of the area in M. C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin series which is now a television series. Roxy first went in Winter (December 2012) and a couple of years later in late Summer. The first 12 in the collection were completed in Oil on Arches Oil Paper and took five years to paint.  They were featured in Roxy's Solo Exhibit at the Porto Vista Hotel in San Diego.  She has since been several times since and added to them.  Her travels prompted her to learn painting in Watercolor so that she could paint on location while abroad.

This particular painting is from an area called "Lower Slaughter." There is Upper and Lower Slaughter and there is a road that leads to a local Inn. There is a larger painting of the road leading to the Inn Titled: Lower Slaughter Country Inn, which one accesses by veering left. (Shown) This is the view if one turns right. They are done in the same style and meant to be hung near each other on a wall.

The Cotswold Collection is Roxy's prized possession. She takes great pride in the completion of the series.

  • *Please note there is no Buyer's Premium.  Galleries and Auction houses typically charge a "Premium" or Curator Fee; typically, 25% to 30%.  This covers their costs for researching, locating, storing, listing, promoting, auctioning, etc. and may be in addition to a commission.
  • Here, you are purchasing directly from the Artist.  The Artist is not only financing the materials and creating the Artwork, she is also financing the storage, listing, promoting, and all other costs related to the business.
  • Shipping costs are calculated by the Post Office based on size, weight, and location.  There are no other fees except a surcharge for insurance on Artworks $500 and up.  It is included in the shipping costs already.
  • If you are unfamiliar with Premiums, here is a good article on the subject:
