Roxy Rich Comedian
Roxy has had a long career as a Stand-up Comedian, beginning in Florida at Bonkerz, Hilarities, The Comedy Zone, and Groucho's Comedy Clubs. She moved to Los Angeles in December of 1992 and landed her first paying gig in Bakersfield in January of 1993. She would go on to travel the road, Featuring in clubs throughout the US and eventually headlining in Las Vegas.
She not only performed, but also produced "Comedy Girlfriends," and all-female review where she got standing room only crowds at The Comedy Store and The Ice House. Many now famous women comedians such as Sherry Shepherd and Heather MacDonald performed in her shows.
Roxy achieved "Paid Regular" status at The Comedy Store in 2004, passed by Mitzi Shore herself.
Life-threatening injuries in 2010 prevented Roxy from performing for a few years. During this time, she published her book, "Roxy does Retail" a humous guide to shopping etiquette gleaned from her experiences working in fashion while supporting her entertainment career. Buy it on Amazon:
She did resume comedy, performing in Laughlin at the Edgewater Casino, in Arizona at Cliff Castle Casino and in Mesquite, Nevada at Casablanca Casino.
Her perspective had changed, however, and she sought solace in nature. She landed in Wine Country where she revived her spirit and mind with fresh air, spectacular views and miles of space. She quickly took to painting the landscapes, flowers, birds and got involved with the Art Community.
Being an oil and watercolor painter, this was just the respite she required. She holds weekly exhibits in Temecula and surrounding areas and she also continues to perform comedy. She is extremely busy as her oil paintings have been exhibited in Los Angeles, San Diego, Barcelona and Milan, so performs comedy when she can while continuing to manage her Fine Art career.
She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG/AFTRA)
