More:

This original oil painting is one in 20 (thus far) of Roxy's Cotswold Collection. The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding beauty in England. This cluster of villages hosts an array of medieval cottages built with local stone which gives them a golden sheen. Roxy was so enamored with them that she painted an entire collection from her travels. She first read of the area in the late M. C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin series which is now a television series. Roxy first went in Winter (December 2012) and a couple of years later in late Summer. The first 12 in the collection were completed in Oil on Arches Oil Paper and took five years to paint.  They were featured in Roxy's Solo Exhibit at the Porto Vista Hotel in San Diego.  She has since been several times and added to the collection.  Her travels prompted her to learn painting in Watercolor so that she could paint on location while abroad.

This particular painting is of the very famous bridge leading up into the village. It is a most popular tourist location for its sheer beauty.  This tiny village in Wiltshire is one of the Cotswolds' prettiest with its cluster of cottages that have grapevines growing on the walls, cobblestone street and, quaint pub. Roxy has another much smaller painting of the view from the town square leading down to this bridge.

*Roxy's photographs are also available in print through the Shop Prints tab.  She was fascinated by the color of the grapes growing over a window as she walked down through the cottages!

The Cotswold Collection is Roxy's prized possession. She takes great pride in the completion of the series.

  • *Please note there is no Buyer's Premium.  Galleries and Auction houses typically charge a "Premium" or Curator Fee; typically, 25% to 30%.  This covers their costs for researching, locating, storing, listing, promoting, auctioning, etc. and may be in addition to a commission.
  • Here, you are purchasing directly from the Artist.  The Artist is not only financing the materials and creating the Artwork, but she is also financing the storage, listing, promoting, and all other costs related to the business. As of yet, there are no employees.  Roxy frames her own work and designs all products one at a time in the merchandise sections.
  • Shipping costs are calculated by the Post Office based on size, weight, (including artwork crate necessary to ship fine art), and location.  There are no other fees except a surcharge for insurance on Artworks $500 and up.  It is included in the shipping costs already.
  • If you are unfamiliar with Premiums, here is a good article on the subject:
